Agent Roster Add-on
The agent roster will nicely display all Active agents on one page so visitors can quickly find their agent’s profile and contact information.
Simply create a Page for an Agent and they will automatically be added to the Agent Roster page. If an agent changes their phone number, email address, picture, etc. – just update it on the agent’s profile page and the Roster updates automatically.
How to Manage: Agent Roster
To add new agents to the roster, you will need to create a new page for each agent and add their necessary contact and profile information as outlined below.
Add a New Agent Profile
- Upload the image of the agent to your website.
- First you must crop the agents photo so it is consistent with the others on your site. Typically we will use a size of (80w x 87h in pixels). If you don’t have photo editing software we highly recommend Picnik. It is free and you don’t have to download any software.
- Go to Media > Add New > Select Files > find the image to upload on your computer and double click to upload.
- Go to Pages > Add New
- Enter the Agents Name as the title (Ex: John Smith)
- Add the agents bio in the main editor. The agents photo, contact info will be automatically added from the information you add to the custom fields explained below.
- Under Custom Fields, you should see a section titled Add new custom field. Here you will add the agent’s basic contact info and photo.
- Add a value for each Name starting with “ar_”.
For example choose in the drop down “ar_email” and enter the agents email address for the Value “john@hisdomain.com” and click the “Add Custom Field”.
Note: The agent will not appear on the Roster page until their First and Last name have been added. - For the ar_image you will need to get the path to the image that you uploaded. One way to see this path is to do the following:
- Click the icon above the editor to Add Image
- Choose Media Library
- Find the photo you want added and click the Show link located to the right
- In the field labeled Link URL, highlight and copy the images location. If it is not there simply click the File URL button and it will display the link.
- Close the pop up window by clicking the X in the top-right corner…We don’t want to add the image to the editor, we just want the images location.
- Paste the information you just copied into the ar_image value and click Add Custom Field
- Add a value for each Name starting with “ar_”.
- Under Attributes (typically located on the left), under Parent choose the page that contains the Agent Roster (typically named About Us, Meet Our Team, Our Agents, etc.).
- Under Template choose “Agent Profile”
- This should be it…just click Publish and then check the page to be sure the agent is displayed properly.
Special Note: The agents email address will be hidden from public view by default (this is done to hide the address from spammers). When a website visitor clicks the “email agent” link, they will be redirected to a form where they can submit their message and the agent will be contacted directly.
